Bonjour!! I worked last month in Paris with gorgeous French actress Berenice Marlohe. She was the Bond girl in Skyfall. Berenice is stunning in all Haute Couture, what an amazing day!
Working with sculptor Rachel Feinstein in her studio in TriBeCa surrounded by her sculptures was just a pleasure! I did hair and make up for this shoot, Rachel, a mother of 3, is striking with gorgeous alabaster skin, and a strawberry mane of waves, very much a Pre-Raphaelite beauty. I gave her a light foundation, soft eye with mascara and a stained lip; all that was needed to give a minimal touch and not take away from her own natural beauty and radiance. Rachel’s light and open eyes and her naturally full eyebrows really give her such expression already, no wonder she has been the muse of renowned painter and husband John Currin in many of his paintings!! Indochine:: my favorite restaurant since I have lived in New York, has always had that 80’s magic to me. Since it opened in 1984, Indochine became an iconic New York City place to eat and be seen, stomping grounds for a generation: Andy Warhol, Jerry Hall… So a perfect back drop for our 70’s-80’s photoshoot, with Joshua Jordan for BE magazine.
One of the recent stories that I did for spring was shot at Oberto Gigli’s wonderful bohemian Greenwich Village home (right around the corner from where I live!), working with one of my favorite hair stylists David Cruz and Renata Maciel, our Brazilian Beauty, who wore the bright printed, 60’s-70’s looking style so well!! I used Tom Ford’s Pink Flamingo lipcolour, for the fuschsia accent and deliciously creamy feel these lipsticks have, and also Lush Cherry, a cherry red! Renata has gorgeous skin, so she needs just a light foundation, accented her eyebrows, gave a light smoky warm brown eye (eye palette of Chanel: Les 4 ombres in Enigma) and a little dab of Lancome’s cream rosy blush, just to pop the cheeks and give that healthy glow!
